Horror video in a confectionery factory in Budapest — VIDEO
The latest video of the Nemzeti Élelmiszerlánc- biztonsági Hivatal (National Food Chain Safety Office) shows horrific conditions. Inspectors reviewed a confectionery in the Hungarian capital. Spider webs, dirt, live rodents, and broken eggs were found during the investigation.
Horrible conditions in a Budapest confectionery
Severe hygiene deficiencies were detected in one of the confectionery places in the Hungarian capital. The National Food Chain Safety Office (NÉBIH) wrote on its website that they found serious problems during an on-site inspection. They describe the case in detail in their report.
The whole unit was messy and crowded. All the equipment, utensils, walls, and shelves were completely covered in dirt, it looked like they had not been cleaned for ages. Spider webs hung from the ceiling everywhere, and paint was peeling off the walls.
Experts from NÉBIH found a rodent living on the site of the production plant.
In addition, all the gas, electricity and plumbing systems in the building were heavily polluted. There were several inches of frozen sugar around the dirty stove. All kinds of impurities were stuck in the thick sugar syrup.

Plenty of food was at risk of contamination due to the improper storage practice. The food storage compartments were also dirty.
Inspectors found both intact and broken eggs in the locker room.
The required handwashing room could not be used. However, there were more than just hygiene problems, blikk.hu writes. “The food business does not keep production and tracking documentation for the food it produces,” the report writes.
NÉBIH immediately suspended the activities of the entire unit.
A total of 519 kg of untraceable food was immediately withdrawn from the market by NÉBIH. In addition, the products placed on the market were recalled without exception. The confectionery can only continue its operation if the authority has a favourable follow-up inspection. The proceedings and the determination of the fine are still in progress, writes 444.hu.
